March 2nd, 2010 - The Family of Saint Anthony today held the Nomination Meeting for the honorary position of Capodieci 2010. The top three nomination recipients will appear on the election ballot on April 6th. Listed in alphabetical order they are: Gregori Anelli, Michael Cappellini, and Nick Rodio Jr.

All members in good standing on April 6th will be allowed to vote. The last day for new applications to the Family to be considered and still be eligible to vote is March 30th (pending Board approval).

December 8th, 2009 - This week at the St. Anthony Family Election the following members were elected to Board positions:

President Peter Anelli
Vice-President Albert Anelli
Recording Secretary Debbie Alunni
Treasurer Albert Alunni
Sergeant at Arms Enrico Anelli
Executive Officers
Linda Anelli
Rich Pirrami
Joseph Nardelli, Jr.
2010 Capodieci (Honorary Captain) TBD

Tickets are also on sale for the St. Anthony Feast Day on January 17th. See the Calendar for more info or call Al at 670-815-7217.

November 9th, 2009 - Last week at the St. Ubaldo Society Election the following members were elected to Board positions:

President: Paul Angeloni (St. George) - uncontested
VP: Peter Anelli (St. Anthony) - uncontested
Treasurer: Mike Fiorelli (St. Ubaldo) - uncontested
Secretary: Rachel Gilloti or Linda Anelli - election Thursday January 8th, 8 P.M. at The Cultural Center.
Sgt at Arms: Mike Linko (St. Ubaldo)
None of the Board positions for the three Family Directors of each St. Family were contested, so Albert Anelli, Joe Nardelli Jr., and either Enrico Anelli or Linda Anelli (depending on the election outcome) will also represent the St. Anthony Family on the Society Board.

Octobor 6th, 2009 - Tonight at our regular family meeting we announced the acceptance of six new members into the Family of St. Anthony. Also, a vote was taken of eligible voters to determine the nominations of qualified St. Anthony Family candidates to the St. Ubaldo Society Board. We think we will be able to get 3-5 representatives elected to the Board this year. The membership in attendance voted to nominate the following members in this order:

Peter Anelli, Albert Anelli, Linda Bonacci-Anelli, Joe Nardelli Jr., and Enrico Anelli

The top 3 vote getters should make it onto the board uncontested. If some of these members can be elected to positions other than those reserved for St. Anthony, then the next ones in order would be nominated. See the calendar for information on the St. Ubaldo Society nomination and election meetings.

July 17th, 2009 - Saturday and Sunday night the Family of St. Anthony supported the St. Ubaldo Society tent and team during the American Cancer Society Relay for Cancer. Although it was our first year back after a short break, we still took home one award - The Golden Pillowcase Award - for having the most teammates stay up throughout the night. We hope to continue to support worthwile charity events like this in Jessup and our surrounding community.

May 22nd-24th, 2009 - Friday, the Saint Anthony Family entered it's first float in the Annual Firemen's parade. Loaded with Santantoniari, the float anchored a very well attended lineup of Ceraioli and Dignitaries from Gubbio, including Pacio, Elvezio, and Maurizio. The Dinner at Pietros was also well attended and perfect weather allowed everyone to eat, drink, and sing outside under the tent.

Saturday, the Family of Saint Anthony accomplished all it's goals in style. All events were well attended by members of the three Saint Families. Everybody had fun and participated. And L'Alzata and the Course were run flawlessly, with the Saint Anthony cero and new statue never falling. We ran with heart and won the favour of many in the community for our dedication to the Saints and St. Ubaldo. Our post-party celebration at Pietro's will be remembered as one of the best in decades - thanks to Gabriele, Johnny, the Eugubinos, and prominant family members of each Saint Family.

Sunday, the Children's race remined us why we work so hard. The young Santantoniari ran together and learned the traditions of our ancestors. Over 30 children participated with Saint Anthony making our future a very bright one.

April 7th, 2009 - Nominations for The Family of Saint Anthony's first-ever popularly elected Capodieci were held at our most successfully attended meeting of the year. Two very qualified candidates were put forth by the membership including...

Albert Anelli and Sean Pegula, both of whom have run for St. Anthony for more than 5 years, have held leadership roles with the St. Ubaldo Society and have family ties to Gubbio and Jessup (although the last is not a requirement).

This very honorable position will be awarded by an election of the entire membership on April 21st at 7 P.M. at Pietro's Restaurant (our new home/taverna for 2009). The Capodieci, besides throwing the brocche at the Alzata, acts as the "course committee chairperson" and organizes the other leaders of the St. Anthony teams.

February 20th, 2009 - The Family of Saint Anthony Board met tonight at Pietro's for a special meeting. We unanimously approved filling the open positions on our Board. Albert Alunni was selected for Treasurer and Joseph Nardelli, Jr. and Debbie Alunni were selected for Executive Officers. We hope to swear them in on March 3rd at our regular meeting.

The Board also unanimously approved the selection of our home (or Taverna di Sant' Antonio) for the 2009 "Cento Anni" celebration to be at Pietro's Restaurant at 819 Church St., Jessup PA. Pietro has been most gracious and accommodating. All future regular meetings will be held at our new home (first Tuesday of each month at 7 P.M.).

Lastly, the Board approved an outline of steps to address organizations not affiliated with The St. Ubaldo Society from organizing activities against the Society and our Family.

January 5th, 2009 -The Family of Saint Anthony would like to announce its 1st annual Feast Day Celebration of St. Anthony (the Abbot) on January 17th. There will be a mass at 5:30pm at St. James Church on 605 Church St. to honor the living and dead ceraioli of St. Anthony, followed by a reception in the downstairs hall of St. Mary's Church on 516 3rd Ave until 8PM. Specialty coffees, authentic Gubbio dolce (sweets), and a special presentation by the Gail Ercoli Dancers and a themed door prize are all available. Tickets are $10 and children under 13 are free. For tickets contact Al Anelli at 570-815-7217 or email the Saint Anthony Family at info@saintanthonyfamily.org. Tickets will also be available at the door, but we are trying to get an estimated head count, so please purchase your tickets asap. Tickets can also be purchased through the Families of Saint Ubaldo and Saint George.

September 7th, 2008 - We had a successful Constitution and Bylaws ratification meeting at the St. Ubaldo Society Cultural Center. Thank you to everyone that attended including most of the Board of the St. Ubaldo Society. The major differences between our Bylaws and those of The Family of Saint Ubaldo were read out load and questions were answered. Eleven attendees ratified our document, then the President of the Saint Ubaldo Society, under approval of the Board of the Society, approved our Constitution and Bylaws and officially recognized the Family of Saint Anthony as the official organization to represent Saint Anthony in all future business.

The second half of the meeting started with the reading of members and possible applicants who could be nominated for Board positions within The Family of Saint Anthony. According to our Bylaws this includes anyone that had a documented support of The Saint Ubaldo Society (via membership) and also supported Saint Anthony in the previous few years (dressed in black). To increase our pool of possible nominees we agreed to include anyone that was a St. Ubaldo Society member either of the last two years (2007 or 2008).

All nominations were made and seconded. Because it was the day after Labor Day Holiday, everyone in attendance agreed that nominees did not need to be in attendance, but they would have to be contacted and accept nominations before the end of the week. The election meeting was also pushed back one week to September 30th. A list of eligible nominees for Board positions, who have accepted their nomination, is shown below. If you have questions or feel you need more information regarding a nominee, please reach out to them directly. If you need their contact information, email us at "info @ saintanthonyfamily.org", without the spaces and we will be happy to send it to you.

President - Peter Anelli, running unopposed.

Vice President -  Albert Anelli, Enrico Anelli

Recording Secretary - Linda Anelli, running unopposed.

Treasurer - Albert Anelli, Liana Craig

Sergeant at Arms - Enrico Anelli, Gregori Anelli

Executive Officers (up to 3 may be elected) - Enrico Anelli, Gregori Anelli, Liana Craig, Franco Lorenzetti, Joseph Nardelli Sr. (a St. Ubaldo Society Past President)

Since no one person can hold more than one Board positions and several people were nominated for multiple positions, elections for each position will occur individually starting at the President and working down the above list.
